Get started with NetVallum

NetVallum is centralized management for pfSense CE and pfSense Plus, from one multi-tenant console. There are two ways to onboard a firewall — pick the one that fits how you buy your hardware.

Zero-touch — buy it ready to go

Recommended
  1. Buy your pfSense firewall from an authorized Netgate distributor that is also a NetVallum partner.
  2. The distributor pre-registers the serial number and ships the firewall zero-touch-ready.
  3. Power it on with an internet connection — it calls home and enrols itself.
  4. It appears automatically in your NetVallum portal, ready to manage.

Zero-touch only works with a firewall bought from an official Netgate supplier that is also a NetVallum partner: they deliver the device zero-touch-ready and pre-register its serial number for you.

Self-connect — use your existing pfSense

  1. Install the NetVallum package on your existing pfSense CE or Plus.
  2. Generate a one-time seed token (or a dedicated API key) in your portal.
  3. Enter it once on the firewall; it locks itself to your controller.
  4. Within minutes it is monitored and managed from NetVallum.

Works on any pfSense you already run — no special purchase required. Access is API-only: a dedicated, least-privilege key, never SSH.
